1. SOLAS Convention (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea)
From July 1, 2006, maintenance, testing and inspection of life-saving equipment were obliged to be conducted based on guidelines (MSC.1 / Circ. 1206, former 1093) prepared by IMO.
According to the guidelines, the periodic inspection and maintenance of life-saving equipment in annual and every 5 years must be conducted by a technician appropriately educated and trained by the manufacturer's representative or manufacturer.
When repair, detailed maintenance and annual maintenance are completed, a statement that the life-saving equipment has been confirmed to be in a condition conforming to its purpose shall be issued by a personnel certified for its work by the manufacturer's representative or manufacturer.

3. Main Inspection Contents and Notes on Inspection
■ Preparation Prior to Work
| （1）Preliminary Operation Check | Before our inspection and maintenance, please check the life-saving equipment conducting visual check and operational check to make sure it is in a normal state. If there is a problem please contact us before the technician visits the ship. |

| （2）Preliminary Preparation Arrangement | a. Please obtain the permission of the port authority and the berth administrator about boat releasing test and lowering test. |
| （3）Preliminary Preparation Tools | a. Push button switch box b. Maintenance pendant c. Starter panel d. Chain block, gear puller e. Grease, lubricating oil (when necessary) f. Please remove the over lashing wire rope securing the boat. |
■ During Work
| （1）Attendance of Person in Charge | Please attend the captain or the responsible person during work. |

| （2）Environmental Arrangement | Please prepare the environment of the ship so that the life-saving equipment can be operated. Please prepare the environment of the ship so that a dynamic winch brake test can be conducted. |
※In order to shorten the working time and to facilitate shipboard work, please support the engineer.
■ Inspection Contents
| （1）Check Records | Check the weekly and monthly maintenance and inspection records and repair records conducted on the ship. |

| （2）Overhaul Inspection | Open the brake section and gearbox section of the winch to inspect. |
| （3）Operation Test | Dynamic winch brake test |
| Annual Inspection | Lower the empty boat, and when the boat reaches the maximum lowering speed (before landing), apply braking suddenly and confirm that there is no abnormality. |
| Every 5-year Inspection | Lower the boat multiplied by a load 1.1 times of the full lifeboat load and conduct the inspection. When the boat reaches the maximum lowering speed (before landing), apply the brakes suddenly and confirm that there is no abnormality. |
* As inspection items on the lifeboat side, there are off-road operation test (annual inspection) of the releasing device, on-road operation test and overhaul inspection (inspection every 5 years) etc.
* Storage of the life-saving equipment or repair painting, etc. after inspection is not included in our scope of work..
■ Notices on Checking
| （1）Checking on Metal Fittings | If there is no Maintenance Eye on the Davit, there is no auxiliary hook or no hanging fitting for maintenance on the lifeboat, or in case there is neither, we will conduct inspection of the releasing device of the lifeboat with the lifeboat landed on the water. |

| （2）Inspection and Maintenance | Periodic inspection or maintenance by maintenance service company is to confirm that the equipment is in an appropriate condition at the time of the inspection, and it does not guarantee that the equipment is in an appropriate condition after inspection or maintenance. |
